The D4 bulldozer (old D6K2) has long been one of the most popular machines for its power, precision and optimized balance, which provide consistent grading performance. This latest D4 provides greater value with improved sight lines, lower operating costs and a wide range of easy-to-use technology features to help you get the most out of your dozer. The D4 weighs 13,272 kg and has a net power of 130 hp. The D4 LGP has an operating weight of 14,008 kg.
Get up to 30% more visibility to the front of the blade with a lower sloping hood. Thanks to shorter sight lines, the sight distance between the sheet and the material stack is shortened by approximately 40%, so less time is spent reversing to get a complete view of the material and the job is shortened done faster. In the cab, operators will find a more comfortable seat with better suspension and multiple customizable settings to enhance comfort. The easy-to-use 254 mm (10 in) main touch screen (now included on most Cat dozers) allows easy viewing of machine settings and functions. The image from the standard equipped HD rear view camera is prominently displayed on the main screen.

Customers will also be able to add the factory-integrated 3D Cat Grade system. The system uses a GPS signal to automatically adjust blade movements (both elevation and tilt) as the operator follows the design plan. The antennas and receivers are housed in a low-profile, ceiling-mounted impedance riser. Grade's intuitive 10 in. (254 mm) operator interface works like a smartphone, so operators will learn to use it quickly. The Android OS platform allows the installation of custom applications to offer greater versatility. The AutoCarry ™ system also includes Grade with 3D, which automates blade lift to achieve more even loads with each pass and reduce track slippage. Works seamlessly with Grade with 3D and Slope Assist. Its ability to install 3D grading systems from Trimble, Topcon and Leica allows the D4 to easily integrate into existing grading technology infrastructures on job sites. All Cat Grade systems are compatible with Trimble, Topcon and Leica radios and base stations.
Longer service intervals contribute to a reduction in maintenance costs of up to 7%. The engine oil / engine oil filter change interval has been extended to 1,000 hours*. The air filter and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) filter service intervals have also been extended. LED lights last up to six times longer than halogen lights, saving parts costs.
